FOR THE HOOD
MENTAL HEALTH
Our Projects
At #MH4H, we have a deep commitment to improving mental health in the Black and Afro-Latino communities. As we continue to develop, we hope to offer a range of programs and projects that aim to eliminate mental health stigmas, promote positive mental health, and address socioeconomic disparities.
Here are some of our upcoming projects we are seeking out funding for:
1
MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
Currently, only 1 in 3 Black adults in need of mental health care are able to access it. #MH4H is committed to changing this by ensuring that everyone receives the mental health treatment they deserve.
With your help, we hope to provide a comprehensive range of mental health services, including individual therapy sessions, peer support groups, and mental health workshops.
2
FOOD ASSISTANCE
In 2020, 19% of Black households experienced food shortages.
At #MH4H, we believe no family should go hungry, and hope to reduce this number through food assistance programs and community gardens.
Join us in the fight against food insecurity by supporting our mission and helping provide nourishment to those in need.

4
MATERNAL ASSISTANCE
Black women often face increased stress during pregnancy due to factors like racial discrimination and financial strain, increasing their risk of postpartum depression and anxiety.
#MH4H believes that through proper support systems, we can significantly reduce these maternal mental health challenges.
Our goal is to offer comprehensive support to expecting mothers through doula services, lactation consultations, and support groups.
EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS
Due to financial pressures, Black students are more likely to work part-time or full-time during their studies, which contributes to lower graduation rates and a higher likelihood of dropping out.
#MH4H believes that all students should have the privilege to focus on their studies, without having to worry about financial stressors. That’s why we’re aiming to provide scholarships and financial assistance to those who might not have the resources to attend college.
Support our mission to help open doors to higher education for deserving students.
